Open Carry in State Parks?
« on: May 21, 2010, 07:25:42 AM »
I want to take my boys camping at Ft. Kearney this weekend. Do open carry laws apply in state parks?

Thank You,
Aaron

There is no law regarding open carry in Nebraska (except in Omaha). No law, in other words not regulated.

However if there are signs posted that firearms are prohibited, then you should not carry!

Chris is right about open carry in general as the normal firearms laws go.  However, the hunting laws and NGPC rules (which the Legislature gave them permission to make) can impact your legal ability to carry in certain areas during hunting seasons.

For example, it is illegal to possess a centerfire handgun while hunting during archery season.
