NRA MARKSMANSHIP QUALIFICATION PROGRAM
« on: February 14, 2010, 09:02:43 AM »
We have begun a Program at 4RSC to get a few of our action pistol shooters a NRA Qualification. We generally shoot a few targets after the action pistol event.
We had 8 shooters begin at the basic level of Pro Marksman, 10 targets, 5 hits in a 8" group from 15ft and no time limit. This level was easily reached by all of our shooters. This is intended for new shooters working on the basics, Sight alignment, trigger control and shooting stance.

Last Friday night we moved up to the Pro Marksman level. This is 30 ft, 10 targets with 10 shots each in a 6" group. We had 3 shooters including myself, a few regulars were absent or did not want to shoot. We shot 4 targets (40 rds. At this range it is really easy to see how important the three basics are to shooting. One of our youngest shooters has got a bad trigger "Mash" that we will have to work on. But we will stick with him all the way to Distinguished Expert.

If you are interested in the NRA program check out there web site. This can be done at your home range and at your own pace.
