--- Quote from: ILoveCats on August 08, 2019, 12:34:52 PM ---We need to keep our eyes peeled for Jordan Peterson's "thinkspot" social media channel and maybe someone should sign up for the beta and secure the "NFOA" moniker there. I see this being the new home of censorship free social media once launched.
We should not shy away from mainstream social media channels and need to go on the full offensive there but keep backup comms channels active just in case of banning due to "offensive" content as determined by the collectivists.

My point exactly. Thanks for mentioning Peterson's thinkspot, haven't heard about that one until now.

Forums are fine as long as politicians or their staff monitor them. I think it's better to contact our government representatives via e-mail or phone - whatever method you find comfortable. I have already written to the U.S. Senators and Representatives along with the POTUS and my Nebraska representative. I don't know if it'll do any good since politicians are going with emotion rather than logic and reality and follow the Constitution. I expect that we'll get more "do something" laws that don't do anything to address the real problem. Anyway, I tried to be brief in my e-mail but I always leave something out when being brief. Like the fact that we already have laws to deal with mental illness. The bottom line is that I ask: if penalties against murder and assault won't stop criminals and murderers what makes them think that more laws will make a difference?

We have reached a tipping point, the three letter organizations have failed us (NRA, GOA, FPC) they continue to waste money suing the government in hopes that the government will decide that what the government did was unconstitutional.
What we need now is action, the Three letter organizations should be organizing country wide marches on assembly buildings, capitals and D.C. state level organizations should be doing the same.
400,000 people voted to name a stupid hi-point the Yeet Cannon.
The anti-gunners are successful because they use tactics that work, it’s time gun owners start doing the same thing.

Unfortunately, the anti-gunners are making progress because the majority of voters don't think for themselves. For example, a lot of people think GFZ's are a great idea but it doesn't seem to occur to them that just putting up a sign or declaring a GFZ doesn't stop criminals and mentally ill people from doing illegal and deadly things and that it's just harassment of decent, law abiding gun owners that could've stopped an active shooter. And then there's the cost and inconvenience of getting into an area that has security checks is another factor. Just one example of how the sheep operate. We have a lot of work educating all those uninformed people. As a sidebar, Senator Collins (R?-ME) believes that buying guns through the internet is a loophole because background checks aren't done. Last time I checked such transactions have to be done through FFL's which means a background check is done. Not to mention that even though background checks are done when guns are purchased at an FFL there are people that seem unaware that they are being done. And a lot of people don't consider that 99.99% of criminals don't get their guns from an FFL. Need I say more? Just some things that we're up against. I do my best to educate people but 99.99% of the people that I socialize with are gun owners. And don't get me started on "red flag" laws.
