Was wondering if any members have established communication using ham radio frequencies.

If you haven't gotten licensed yet, and you are having down time from your job, now might be  good time to study for your Tech license and learn how to use and program that $20.00 radio you bought a few years ago and tossed in your go bag without even opening the box it came in.

i have a General.  i've never checked in during our local ham net, but sometimes i will listen.

if you have a baofeng, download CHIRP and learn to use that.  CHIRP is the easiest way to program those radios.

Gunscribe:
CHIRP is a good way to go, beware there are some inferior cables out there. Make sure any cable you get has the FTDI chip or there will likely be problems with your computer communicating with the radio.

I'm a General, I'm set up for HF, VHF, and UHF.

I check into this net occasionally on 80m.  It's interesting to hear perspectives from other areas of the country.
