Heartland Shooting Park Into Please
(1/1)
whatsit:
My son is interested in shooting his rifle out past 100 yards and I thought we would take a weekend trip over to GI to check out the Shooting Park. Are there certain times or requirements for using their longer ranges? Can we just show up and shoot? Can someone give me the lowdown, please?
Thanks!

I have been there and have enjoyed my time there.
They have a friendly staff and I get e-mail updates from them weekly.

I've read all their procedures on their website and it seems only paper targets are allowed. Does the range have steel on the longer range (300 yards)? When I've shot the zombie match there, they had steel setup, but maybe that was just for the match?

I've shot there a few times. They supply one paper target, you can buy more if needed. No steel on the rifle or pistol ranges. I do believe they have them in the pits for special shoots.
Have a empty chamber indicator for the gun(s) you're going to shoot, you can get those there too if you don't have one. Stop at the club house first to register and do a quick safety coarse and I think you may need to show your purchase card or CHP. After you've done all that and pass then they'll let the RSO now what range your going to and you'll drive to that range. They will have you stay in your car until the RSO gets to you.
They will explain everything better at the club house that I can.
Good group of guys there.
