Here's a fun little gun - .36 caliber 1851 Navy replica, made by Pietta. I bought it at the bargain cave at the Kearney Cabela's for $120. The barrel was buggered up pretty bad from someone trying to pound out the wedge with a hammer, so I draw filed it to remove the marks (also removed the reproduction marks while I was at it) and reblued it. It's extremely accurate, especially considering I'm a poor handgun shot and it has pretty primitive sights - just a notch in the hammer.

I hope you didn't file off the serial number and make it into one of those illegal guns the Omaha mayor is so worried about!

Nope, just the markings on the side that say "Pietta" and "Black Powder Only" since those didn't appear on the originals. The serial number is actually on the frame.

Actually, I wasn't even sure if guns had serial numbers on them back then!
