1911's .45 ACP John Browning Should Have a Holiday Named for Him

Randy:
If a firearm has ever made a resurgent in popularity it is the 1911 .45 ACP.
Kimber got the ball rolling in late 90's and the ball has not stopped.
There are now so many quality .45's available that the list seems endless.
Even the worst trigger on a 1911 is often better than some other gun styles best trigger.

I agree 100%.  Perfection at its simplest.  For a variety of reasons I like a hammered action on a 1911.  The beaver tail on my Kimber is just long enough that I can de cock it pointed safely away with one hand and for me that is an important issue.  As just a note of interest, eventhough the U.S. military went primarily to the 9 mm, Marine Corps Special Ops has continued to use the .45 ACP.  It was designed soley to put out a lot of fire power at close range, put down what ever it hit and make a lot of noise while doing so.

What about Gaston Glock day?

What war has he helped win?
