Why do people love the black rifles so much ?

Randy:
unfy questions.

Have you shot an AR
Have you dissembled one.

I am fascinated by my 18" Bushmaster because I am an American and can.

Have I fired one ? Yeah.  It's a rifle.  Nothing particularly stood out about the experience.

Disassembled one, no.  While field strip for cleaning doesn't look overtly terrible (other than a few tiny ass pins and a half dozen parts as opposed to just a couple), a full strip for cleaning is... ew.

Can I easily be taught to field strip quickly and keep track of everything ? Sure.  Do I have any particular desire to ? Not really.  The rifle doesn't offer much I have any interest in.  Is there some benefit to being able to easily remove the firing pin from the bolt and such ? Possibly.

"American and can" had me smiling and almost laughing.  It's so true and awesome :).  Similarly, I absolutely adore my S&W 686 with 2.5" barrel in 357mag.  While the subtleties of the wuv is different, we all undoubtedly share the same root wuv.

For those that enjoy the lego aspect of the rifle, I can understand having several different builds... and that the lego aspect can be endearing.  Having the same 'base' for a variety of applications makes working with it easier as well, I suppose.  Guess I just don't share it or have any desire to do massive tweaks.

The 686 is indeed a nice revolver. I have an older one in stainless with the 4" barrel and like it a lot.

lol, he said "infernal."

I like most things that are not politically correct.
