Ike's Members Question
« on: August 17, 2010, 03:05:01 PM »
I have been considering Joining the Izaak Walton here and was wondering what the pistol range setup is like. I know I have to bring my own targets but what are the shooting distances/lanes etc. I assume you have to share the range with whoever else is there shooting. Thanks

It's been a while since I have been out there, but I think they just have a 2 lane 7yd steel bullet trap. A 50 yd small bore rifle, 100 yd rifle, and 300 yd rifle. I know they have Trap, and a 5 stand of sorts.

pistol range has 2 spots at the 7 yard bullet trap, a couple of 25 yard positions, and a couple of 50 yard positions.

where is "here"?  There are Izaak Walton's all over the place.

Assuming you're talking about Lincoln, Chris is right.  We're also working on building a new rifle range in addition to the 100 & 300 yard ranges.  This one will have 2 25's, 6 50's, and 6 75's.  Once that's done the 50 yard bays on the pistol range will all be converted to 25.  Pistol shooters are welcome on the rifle ranges.
