Here's a Great Story - and the Chicago Police Got it Right!
« on: September 29, 2010, 07:53:58 PM »
Just ran across this on Drudge.  Great read - and it looks like the Chicago Police got it right (I wouldn't have bet money on it!).

The title is:  Elderly Woman Shoots 12-Year-Old Boy - Boy Is Charged With Crime, Woman Is Not

http://cbs2chicago.com/local/elderly.woman.shoots.2.1936778.html#comments

Basically, a group of little turds in the neighborhood have been harassing the elderly by throwing bricks through their windows, stealing from them, setting fires on their property, etc.  This elderly lady finally had enough and shot the ringleader in the shoulder - and they charged the kid with misdemeanor aggravated assault to a senior citizen.

I bet he learned his lesson!

I see the lowlife neighbors are trying to stick up for the kid..."he wouldn't do nothing wrong..."

I didn't see in the story what she shot him with, I'm guessing a shotgun, since handguns are banned.

Good for Miss Margaret!  What IS sad is that these punks are getting younger and younger. Someone missed an a$$ whoopin' years ago.

Sounds like a movie I watched a while back: Harry Brown. Kinda slow going and based across the pond, but basically a group off delinquents harass a bunch of pensioners and it goes on until someone dies and a retired Marine cleans up the place.

I bet he learned his lesson!
I'll bet he didn't... he is claiming he was just walking by the house and she shot him...

Is it just me, or does the gun look like it is going to flip out of Charles Bronson's hands and hit him in the head as soon as he fires it?

The one nice thing about IL is that there's a law on the books that states if you use a firearm in self-defense, you cannot be charged under a gun ban ordinance. Thats why the lady wasn't charged.
