Anyone know if there is a compatibility issue with the Beretta/Benelli mag extender? thoughts and suggestions are welcome,

Yes, the threads are not the same.

To my knowledge, these are the only folks making an extension for the M2000:

I just talked to a guy today who had the Stoeger and had a heck of a time finding a tube for it.  He ended up finding one on Ebay.
