If you have nothing else to do on Sunday, November 21st, come out to the Eastern Nebraska Gun Club for our Steel Challenge match. Information available here:
http://hapkido.4t.com/Downloads/SteelChallengeComments.pdf --you can shoot it with a .22 pistol, or a centerfire pistol. For .22 pistol, you don't even need a holster. Like always, setup starts at 7:30am, and shooting starts at 9:00. C'mon out and speed-shoot some steel... Smiley
Short description:
5 stages, each stage has 5 steel targets, one of which has been designated the "stop plate".
Starting with wrists above respective shoulders for centerfire pistols (or .22 in both hands pointed at an orange cone for rimfire shooters), upon audible start signal shoot each of the steel targets once, ending with the stop plate. Your time gets recorded----and then you do it four more times. Your slowest score gets thrown out, the other four are added together---and that is your stage score.
Match score is the total of all stage scores added together.
No movement, no reloading on the clock, and if you don't have 5 magazines, don't worry, as long as you have at least two someone can load the other up behind you while you are shooting with the other. If you are shooting centerfire pistol, you just need a good quality holster that covers the trigger guard. Rimfire---bring what you've got, and it'll be good.
This is a great way for people to get introduced to some competitive pistol events, without throwing them into the deep end. (And setup, tear-down, and scoring is simple!
) Of course, if you are a serious competitive-level shooter, you might find some good competition here, too...
It's a fun time, folks.
