I like guns

<< < (2/3) > >>

David Hineline:
Talking to him I found out there are more guns in Australia than I thought.  I would hang with him before I would  would with many US gun owning Fudds.

justsomeguy:
Everyone is entitled to his own opinion but the people from Austrailia that I've heard from aren't happy with the new restrictions.
Some of which include:
-No semi automatics. The government made all current owners to turn them in.
-No pump actions. Same turn in.
-A person must show "good cause" to purchase a new weapon or caliber.
-Self defense is NOT a valid reason to own a firearm.
-Not allowed to purchase any parts (read mags) for any weapons not currently in your inventory.
-The government can police this because they must approve ALL purchases and they keep records of everything everyone owns.
-"Safe storage" laws. All firearms must be stored unloaded in a safe. Remember NO self defense!
-Home inspections. The government will enter your home to verify that you currently have all the arms on your list, that you don't have any not on the list and that they are all stored unloaded in a safe that meets their approval.
-No .50 calibers allowed. No civillian "NEED".
-Ranges all over the country are now disallowing the .338 Lapua.
-There is talk in the political circles of banning the .338 Lapua because with no ranges to shoot at there is no civilian "NEED"!

To quote Steve Lee from the interview "Austrailian gun laws have done a good job of that." refering to "keeping a lot of people from getting guns".
He also said "It was a good thing that they tightened a lot of the laws up".

If Steve Lee is OK with these types of laws then I am not OK with him.
He is certainly no friend to freedom.

David Hineline:
Did some of you even watch his video, I wish more Trap and Skeet shooters in the US were like him.

Eagle1:
I watched the video clip of the interview. It appeared to me that it was a set-up by an anti-gun reporter, much like the liberal media right here in the good ol' USA. The look on his face spoke volumes to me. My guess is that he was told they wanted to do a story about the videos, instead used it to make him look stupid and push the anti gun agenda.
If I am not mistaken, that is David in the picture with Steve in the above post. If so, David, would you mind giving your honest opinion about Steve. Do you think he is anti or pro gun?
I said it before and I will say it again. I believe we need restrictions on gun ownership. I don't believe felons should legally own firearms or individual's that have been declared mentally incompetent.
I believe every state should be "will issue conceal carry", but I believe that a business has a right to deny CC in their business. I don't have to do business with them.
I don't believe that Omaha can override state law and impose restrictions on possession of firearms. I don't agree that individual community's can disallow conceal carry when the state says you can. The people of this state  spoke up and with the help of the NFOA have been able to change the wording in the law to correct this.

If the above post is correct about the Australian gun laws, I feel that they are outrageous. I hope that the people of Australia will work hard to have the laws changed.

I own a number of firearms of many types. I shoot for hunting, sport and fun.
So am I pro gun or anti gun?  ???

A-FIXER:
A song don't make the man, it his actions......and surrender he will if he does nothing.
