NFOA members help to catch a Real SOB in Holdrege area Saturday, watch the news
DaveB:
I haven't heard anything on the news about this yet. I was there Saturday and didn't see this going on, what an idiot! Great job by the NFOA! It would be good for the media to report the facts on this one.
Are there any links at all yet?
Chris Z:
Can't post a link from my phone, but this NSP press release tells the story I think.
Suspect Arrested in Short Pursuit Wanted
in Seward County Home Invasion
(Holdrege, NE)- A man wanted in connection with an August home invasion robbery in rural Seward County is in custody following a short pursuit in Phelps County over the weekend.
Around 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop D Headquarters- North Platte, attempted to stop a 2004 Silver, Chevy Venture mini-van, southbound on U.S. Highway 183 from Holdrege, in Phelps County. The mini-van matched the description of a vehicle reported stolen out of Aurora, Colorado. The driver of the mini-van had also been reported to the Holdrege Police Department on Saturday for selling guns out of the van in the parking lot of the Phelps County Ag Center.
The driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued on county roads south and east of Holdrege. The pursuit which lasted 11 minutes ended approximately three miles north of Atlanta, on 729 & H Road when the mini-van blew a tire.
The driver of the mini-van identified as Lawrence Joe White, 50, address unknown was taken into custody without incident. Eight guns, along with knives, ammunition and a laptop were recovered from the vehicle.
White has three outstanding warrants for his arrest including one out of Seward County for an August 17, 2010 home invasion robbery, in which a juvenile female and her mother were held captive and locked in a closet before the suspect fled in the family?s SUV.
He is also wanted in Aurora, Colorado on a stolen vehicle and weapons charges.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have purchased a gun from White to contact local authorities. It is believed he sold two weapons in the Kearney area the week of Dec. 6-9 and two weapons in Phelps County on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010.
White remains in the Phelps County jail, where he is lodged on charges of Flight to Avoid Arrest, Speeding, No Operator?s License, Willful Reckless Driving, Possession of Stolen Property, Felon in Possession of Firearms, and Selling Stolen Firearms.
The Nebraska State Patrol was assisted by the Phelps County Sheriff?s Office and the Holdrege Police Department

There you go
Sadly, no mention of the NFOA involvement in his capture :(
DaveB:
Thanks. I just watched the news here and once again there was no mention of it, but they did have celebrity birthdays.
I also am going to bet that there will be no mention of the NFOA in order to make the SP look like heros for stalking this guy for weeks before making the bust on him.
I wonder if anyone is going to turn in the guns that are missing?
NE Bull:
Also love how LJS picks and chooses which articles a person can comment on, I was planning on adding to the article. Oh well.
