I have requested that Gary Slider of Handgunlaw.us resubmit the attachments (map) that were lost on the forum transfer.

For What it's Worth...............

I'm in Albuquerque, NM at this very moment.

When planning the auto trip down from Omaha, I consulted state CCW websites for Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico to nail down their reciprocity policies.  The first three states had very clear info on their websites.

However, New Mexico had nothing on reciprocity that was of help.   So after getting here, I went to the NM Department of Public Safety office to get the word on NM reciprocity first hand.

Guess what?

They gave me a copy of the Handgunlaw webpage on reciprocity.    That's all they had in their office.   They had no paperwork of their own.

And.......Turns out that Nebraska CHP permits are NO GOOD in New Mexico.   So==I'm carrying on my totally valid Florida Permit.

But......Can't use my Utah permit.   No longer any good in New Mexico.   I'm hearing that a couple of other states are doing the same:  delisting Utah.

Oddly, SemperFiGuy, I just got back a few hours ago from Los Alamos. I did find some info about half way down this page : http://www.dps.nm.org/lawEnforcement/ccw/index.php

I emailed the contact listed (suzanne.skasik@state.nm.us) about a week and a half ago to ask if they had considered honoring Nebraska's permit. I received no response.

I have Nebraska and Utah permits, so I disarmed after leaving Colorado. New Mexico is an open carry state, and also extends the same rights you have in your home to your vehicle. As I understand it (not a lawyer, blah blah blah) it is OK to conceal in your car whether you have a permit or not. As I was visiting family who would be aghast to see me openly carrying, I just left it locked up in the trunk.

The maps at that site are awesome.  Just what is NM's problem not recognizing the NE permit. Not enough training or something? I read somewhere (may have been this site...) they dropped UT because residents of NM were getting a nonresident UT permit instead of a NM permit to carry in NM.
