NSSF Urges All Hunters to Comment on Proposed Firearm Hunting Ban

NSSF is urging all hunters and sportsmen to submit comments to the U.S. Forest Service on a proposed firearm hunting ban for areas of the Huron-Manistee National Forest in Michigan. The proposed ban could pose a threat to firearm hunting on portions of federal lands across the nation. The Forest Service is accepting public comment on alternatives until Feb. 11.

Here's the e-mail I sent them. thanks Rod.....

Sirs, to whom it may concern.

I would like to state my position on banning firearms for semi-primitive federal land use, and to allow its existing use to those whom do not hunt. Allowing hunters  yet another means to enjoy the outdoors as and with others whom also use federal land for reasons of enjoyment walks - scenery or the like, posed limitation on one segment would remove the quality of life in the lives of a majority of tax payers limiting another venue of taxation hunting lic, game related tags/permits. With the reasoning that they the hunters would still be allowed to hunt but at a different locale as some who enjoy the scenery know that that particular location chosen offers something that another location just does not offer the same would hold true of the wildlife populous. If this is allowed to pass then could deem restrictions across the nation where to this point both have used this land resource together at this location and those across the nation should you wish to speak of this further please e-mail me and I will respond in a timely manner.

Thank you
