The son of Nebraska's lieutenant governor was injured early Wednesday in an apparently accidental shooting at his Omaha apartment.
Early reports were that Joel R. Sheehy, 21, accidentally shot himself and that his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. He is the son of Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy of Hastings.

apparently the bullet entered the right cheek and exited behind the right ear.
Accidental? Seems like attempted suicide to me, but what do I know.

Entered right-front cheek (near the cheek bone, perhaps) and exited behind the right ear ... maybe he was checking the barrel from the wrong end ... at 2:00 a.m.

There is no such thing as an "accidental" shooting. It is either intentional or negligent.

Stupidity may have played a role in this incident.

Well, I hope he will be ok, just a young kid and we all know that young kids do dumb stuff.
I do like the LT Gov. met him at fire school a few years back.
