Thanksgiving Day morning hunt with my daughters

(1/2) > >>

oldbikewrench:
While the wife was preparing the meal my dayghters and I went and did a bit of squirrel hunting. My oldest daughter, Emmalynn age 4, went with me last year for fall turkey and squirrel. My youngest, Isabelle 20 months, had a great time and this was her first time out hunting.

Dan W:
Great Picture...and Welcome to the NFOA

Randy:
You are starting them off right, enjoyed the picture made me smile.

JimP:
YOU sir, are more dedicated than I!  I don't take them until they are six!

This year, Eldest (12) got her first deer!

oldbikewrench:
Thanks folks.
My thinking is to teach them that it is OK and even good and right to hunt and eat what you kill.
The biggest lesson I want them to learn is what dead means and that shooting a live creature will make it dead. We have no toy guns at my home and we do not let them play with toy guns. Well there is a squirt gun that they play with in the tub.
I want them to learn that it is also fun to shoot.
And they are being taught that when they get older that they do not have to hunt if they do not want to but that they will learn how to.
