"No Guns" criteria

skydve76:
What if, a club I go to, where I sign a membership contract once every 5 years or so, has a list of rules in the contract.  One of the rules is "no weapons".  The list of rules is extensive and there is no way a prudent person would real all of them, though I did notice that rule.

There are no "no guns signs" to the entrance of the club.  The rules are not posted on the wall  like they are at westroads.  the contract is the only place.

Do you think this is enough to say I cant carry there?

AAllen:
Are you asking if you a breaking a law by carrying there?  No you would not be.

Are you asking if you would be breaking an organizations rule?  Yes you would and if it was found out the club could provide whatever discipline it has the power to provide, upto and including removing you from the club.  Could they press any charges against you, no you broke no law.

I'd be unsure of my standing in this case. Could your signature be considered the same as someone verbally telling you "No CCW"? We know that anti gun zealots are prosecuting whatever they can. They may consider it a victory that you spent many thousands of dollars to be found "not guilty". It appears THEN they have the reduced burden in civil court to try and yank your  permit. Ask Computer Cowboy. If they don't want you to carry there, I only see two clear choices.   RJ

AAllen:
Interesting take that having it that way would count as a request, it may even fly in court.

I do agree you have 2 choices, not carry there, or not be a member.  I personally can always find other gun folks to hang around anyway.

OnTheFly:
Is this club in Weeping Water or close by?  If so, and this is the club I am thinking of, then this is one of only two places within a reasonable distance where skydive76 can participate in this activity.

Why don't you bring it up in one of the club meetings to have the rules changed?  That should go over well.  ;D
