They really sad thing is that people should go to jail for this.  Yet I feel nothing will come of this.

The ATF provided aid and comfort to the enemy.  Anyone remember what that's called?

CCRKBA BLASTS OBAMA ADMIN
 FOR ‘GUNRUNNER’ STALL

BELLEVUE, WA – Continued stalling by the Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives over Congressional inquiries about “Project Gunrunner” strongly suggest that the Obama administration is more deeply involved than the president has indicated, and now appears to be actively stonewalling the investigation, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

“The Justice Department’s reaction to a threatened contempt proceeding by Congressman Darrell Issa is that his letter is ‘being reviewed’,” noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “President Obama promised to give Americans a transparent administration when he took office, but the only thing transparent about this scandal is the administration’s obvious effort to ignore the investigation until it goes away.”

On Wednesday, Gottlieb called for the resignation or firing of Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson because of his failure to respond to Gunrunner inquiries and a March 31 subpoena from Congressman Darrell Issa that sought Gunrunner documents. Instead, Issa and Senator Charles Grassley, who is conducting his own Gunrunner probe, have accused the ATF and Justice Department of stonewalling.

“If the administration has nothing to hide,” Gottlieb said, “the White House would immediately order the Justice Department and ATF to open their files to the Capitol Hill investigations. You can bet the White House press corps would be demanding that if there were a Bush, rather than an Obama, in the Oval Office.

“We’re waiting for the White House to tell us that ‘this isn't Watergate’,” he continued, “and they would be right. Nobody got killed because of Watergate. The geniuses who allowed Gunrunner to get out of control can't say that.

“Barack Obama told a Univision reporter that neither he, nor Attorney General Eric Holder approved Project Gunrunner,” Gottlieb noted, “but that doesn't mean they didn't know about it. His statement amounts to plausible deniability and nothing more.

“The president has a credibility problem,” Gottlieb said, “and it’s not about his birth certificate. It’s about Project Gunrunner. He needs to tell the Justice Department to drop the stalling tactics and come clean.”

One almost thinks that Issa and Grassley are fired up about this.

‘IF HOLDER IS SO IGNORANT ABOUT GUNRUNNER SCANDAL, HE SHOULD RESIGN’—CCRKBA

BELLEVUE, WA – Following a second day of Capitol Hill hearings in which he professed little or no knowledge about the controversial Project Gunrunner, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today called for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder.

“For the second day in a row, Attorney General Holder has stated on the record that he didn't know about one of the most egregious government scandals in memory,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “This country cannot afford the luxury of having its top law enforcement officer confess ignorance of an operation that may have allowed thousands of guns to be illegally exported to Mexico. This operation happened on his watch, and apparently right under his nose, and apparently cost the life of at least one law enforcement officer.”

Gottlieb called it an “outrage” that Holder has been unable to answer critical questions about the bungled operation, conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. ATF whistleblowers have told Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) and Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) that Project Gunrunner, and its off-shoot, Operation Fast and Furious, apparently funneled nearly 2,000 guns into the illicit gun trafficking pipeline to Mexican drug cartels.

“It is simply unbelievable that the attorney general can act as though he never heard of an operation that has been exposed on national television by CBS News,” Gottlieb stated. “How could he not know, almost six months after the slaying of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, that guns recovered at the scene are linked directly to the Gunrunner sting?

“Holder is either monumentally stupid,” he added, “or he is telling a monumental lie. Either way, it is obvious that Holder is either hiding something or he is hiding from something. For the attorney general to not know about Gunrunner and its direct link to the Terry slaying is a sign of gross incompetence.

“It’s time for Eric Holder to go home and write his memoirs,” Gottlieb said.
