Thirty Six years in power generation. Gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel gen sets, wind turbines and all of the neat stuff that keeps them going. Operations, maintenance and regulatory compliance included. Looking forward to retiring in a few years so I can ride my bikes and shoot even more.

Recently left my job at the country's largest privately held bank and started an outsourced sales company.  We provide a virtual sales force for technology and financial services companies.

Interesting...we will have to sit down and you can tell me about it.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

I work for a firm that designs and programs railroad crossings (the electronics\instrumentation that makes them work) and the new Positive Train Control (PTC) system that the government has now stated every track must be compatible with by 2015.

Nice! I used to run the research library at the Mises Institute (http://mises.org). Started in '04 and left in '07 to go to law school.

Sweet. Met any of the more well-known individuals of the Austrian school?

I myself am a graduating senior (December) of Mechanical Engineering. No job lined up... so if anyone knows of any work, let me know.

Sure. I worked for/with Lew Rockwell, Jeff Tucker, and Mark Thornton pretty much every day, and at various conferences and during their scholarly visits to LvMI I met (and in some cases became friends with) Bob Murphy, Hans Hoppe, Walter Block, Roger Garrison, Ralph Raico, Joe Salerno, Tom Woods, Stephan Kinsella, Ron Paul, Tom DiLorenzo, David Gordon, Guido Hulsmann, Peter Klein, Jeff Herbener, Roderick Long, Bill Anderson, Bob Higgs, George Reisman, and others.

Who did you have in mind?

That's awesome. I'm familiar with a lot of those names as I catch lectures they post on YouTube occasionally.

I suppose more specifically Tom Woods, Lew Rockwell, Bob Murphy, and Ron Paul are names I'm more familiar with. I look up to these people and greatly appreciate the work that they do to educate others on economics.

It's good to see someone of your background working in law.

I'll play.   I work in the IT department of a manufacturing company here in Lincoln.  Also go to Southeast Community College as a full time student.  And lastly, when I am not slaving away to pay my bills, I am a Father of three wonderful boys and the luckiest Husband on the planet.

Those are my 3 jobs.  ;D

:ouch:!  Furthering education is a fantastic thing!  I am typically there nights, as my work requires me to be there during the day, for some reason.

I thought I responded to this before...I guess it's an age thing   ???

I am a pastor in Ashland, and the director of the Heartland Men of Faith which offices in Omaha. I want men to come alive to who God wants them to be...not bored nice guys siting in the pews!I am one of the many pastors with CHPs and don't understand why the government won't let me exercise 2A inside my work place. How can I protect my "flock" if the need were to arise. I do believe Jesus endorsed the carrying of a personal protection device...do you know where?    ;)

Also an old Marine, OTR trucker, Motorcoach operator, scuba diver, and have done many things on the "Man's Bucket List"   I hope to pick up my new addition tonight from Rod Moeller...an XDM 4.5 Bi-tone 40    :D  ;D  ;)

Thought I did too.

Full time student going for a bachelors in CJ. GI bill and investments make it so I don't have to work, but I still do occasionally for an electrician and a rancher down by Beatrice (family). I'm also a landlord, an EMT, and the army reserves keeps me around as a training adviser. Teach a few classes a year to civilians, but that is much more a hobby than a moneymaker (link in sig line)

Wanting to eventually end up in a rural assignment with the State Patrol or as a deputy on a rural sheriff's department. Don't care for the city, can't wait to get out.
