Spotting scope opinions?

(1/2) > >>

RobertH:
i have some Cabelas bucks to spend and i want/need a spotting scope.  i will use this target shooting anywhere from 100 yards to 300 or more yards.  what are some good brands?  what should i look for in a spotting scope and what magnification?

i saw a Redfield Rampage Spotting Scope Kit @ Cabelas.  is it good?

sparky0068:
I compared the Redfield you picked, Scheels Icon series, and Burris Landmark.  I picked the Burris.  Mine is the 20-60x80, I can see .223cal holes at 300.  I will have it out the the CMP shoot Saturday if you want to try it out.

Robert I have  Konus 20-6-X80 that I like. It cost around $200 a year ago from Amazon.com

Works really good at 100-200 yards. I have not had a chance to try it beyond that

justsomeguy:
1. Opticsplanet.com will probably beat Cabella's price on anything.

2. Leupold gold ring are excelent.

3. Remember, with optics, you DO get what you pay for.

bkoenig:
I thin the Konus is the best scope for the money.
