Good time today at Lexington... Range Report...
« on: October 22, 2011, 11:16:41 PM »
I got a lot of shooting in today at the Run N Iron MG shoot in Lex today. Lots of guys, lots of pumpkins and steel, lots of ammo, and lots of fun.

I only took my mil surp bolt guns today, and fired my 1903 for the first time with its replaced rear sight and new reused stock. Once I got it dialed in, it was great on the 200 yard plate with 150 gr Fed. hunting rounds. It needs a little paper work to get it really dialed in, and then some good bench time I think before it is where I want to leave it.
I also took out my numbers matching K98K and shot it for the first time in years. I think I only shot about 15-20 rounds through it before today. It shot well, although the surplus ammo was a little to be desired.
The No1 and No4 Enfields did fine, although the Iraqi .303 ammo was a little on the iffy side. I need to do some serious reloading for these sometime.
I shot my M39 and M91 last. The M39 I knew shot well, as its my deer rifle sometimes, but the M91 I got new last year and hadnt put just a few through it. It did fine on pumpkins, but the M39 sure outshines it in accuracy.

The other guys had fun with their Class 3 stuff, and I did shoot an auto SBR AR of some sort. It was fun, but couldn't find the rear sight and the mag wasn't near big enough.

I left my camera in the car, and didn't even think about pics until after the carnage... Then I really wanted my camera...
