LOL  Dad's genaration called them "May-Pops".
As they may pop at any time! I HAD to test the theory...
“It is not an issue of being afraid, It's an issue of not being afraid to protect myself.”
 Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert
"A gun is a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that."  Shane

My brother just had to have some wide racing slicks for what he called his "Buford" (Ford body with a Buick engine, Hurst transmission, etc.) that he created himself.  He couldn't afford good new ones, so he got some retreads.  Coming home from Omaha one night, the tread (if you can call it that) separated from the rest of the tire and caused the most God awful racket you could imagine before it finally came clear off and came to rest somewhere along Interstate 80.  Believe it or not, and luckily for him, the tire didn't even go flat, but it was the funniest looking tire I ever saw.
Gun related issues are, by nature, deadly serious.  Still, you have to maintain a sense of humor about them.
