Snowfall reports---->
« on: February 04, 2012, 09:39:53 AM »
Well according to the dog, it's more than....

Seriously, at 7:30 this morning we measured 8" on the flat outside work- NW Lincoln, and it really hasn't let up since.

Thank the Lord for Mr. Ford (and the Dana 44!)

snowblower my a$$ robert, the snow is too heavy and wet, bogs up the auger.  I'm currently at close to 9.5 inches here at the apartment.

Thats ok, i get paid for snow removal, so this is money to me.  I shoveled from 6am to 10am, now i'm taking a break and warming back up with direct injections of coffee.  then i'll go back out after bit.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

Depending on where I took the measurement in the driveway and street we are somewhere between 10 and 13 inches in southwest Lincoln

Weather Service says Columbus got 7.5" but it looks more like 8" to me.

Yep came back to Columbus to get a haircut and new tires on my car yesterday. Was gonna go home this afternoon but looks like I'm stranded until tomorrow. I wish Lincoln would plow as much as Columbus, I used to think Columbus was bad but Lincoln is horrible for snow removal. About 10 inches of snow in my neighborhood. Funny story: My dad tried "rocking" his truck to get it going (rear wheel drive only  ???) and rocked it right into my brothers old truck and broke a tail light. Definitely could have done without this snow, my haircut lady couldn't get into town so it looks like I'm going to be shaggy for a while...

Lincoln is weird about snow removal.  Sometimes they're right on top of it and other times it's like they don't even bother.  I've been out driving around and they've done a pretty good job on the main roads so far today.  I've seen other times where major artery streets don't get plowed for days.

I took my daughter out driving the Suburban on the side streets that have not been cleared.  She thought it was pretty cool how the truck could go through VERY large piles of snow.  I probably shouldn't have shown her that.  :-\
