I've actually since traded this gun. Got out of it about what I paid for it and bought the AK I had been looking at. I still carry a Glock though. I wasn't interested in a Glock armorer to disassemble the weapon, only for advice on the corrosion. As you said - it's a very simple weapon to tear down and reassemble.
Anyhooo.... Thanks all for your help and advice. As many of you know, I carry the ugliest Glock in the world now and I don't think I could be happier. It's performance is stellar and I certainly do trust it to carry me through any situation in which I might need it (God forbid that happens).
