What's on your 'to buy' list?
« on: February 13, 2012, 04:00:29 PM »
Either what you're actually planning to get or, if necessary your wishlist.

I'll start with what I'm planning to get:

6.8spc upper (getting this spring, use for hunting this fall)
Ruger GSR .308 (not sure when, guess I'm going to hunt a lot)
Kahr CM9 9mm (indefinite date)
Taurus 992 .22lr/mag revolver- because I think it's cool.
.308 suppressor

Some sort of BUG type gun- LCP, TCP, etc
Looking to trade up to a S&W M&P in the near future
a .22 lever gun or bolt action for my boy,
would like to be able to collect some cowboy guns to go on 'Posse' with my younger brother.
Some sort of inexpensive SHTF rifle- SKS or similar. JIC  ;)
I WILL own a 1911 before I die!  8)

More knowledge.
Lots of optics. Really big ones for blind guys.
More knowledge.
Ruger 10/22 for my son.
More knowledge.
Reloading equipment.
More knowledge.
And my dreamlist has a Savage 110BA in 300 WMag.  ;D

Oh, and did I say more knowledge.

Eventually some time this year will be rifle reloading equipment, maybe.  I need to get a membership to a rifle range as well.... and an M1A of some kind would be neat.

Other possible choices would be maybe a different carry pistol.  I love my Sig P229, but it is slightly on the large size.  I love the kimber ultra compacts... but... really dislike them having a safety and such.  I'm very accustomed to no safety.  Will have to look at what Sig offers in decent bore sized small frame pistols.

Although..... in all honesty.... all gun stuff is probably on hold.  This year's goal is:

A house! >:D

Something to round out my WWII collection, something American, so a Garand or a M1 Carbine.
My CC permit and a dedicated carry gun with the appropriate holster(s) and what not.
Some training.  I /want/ to do an Appleseed (seeing the Appleseed veterans shoot at the vintage bolt action matches has me jonesing to get me some knowledge) and something for handgun/CC.
A safe.

I'm not planning on buying any more guns for a long time.  Somehow good deals keep sneaking up on me and stealing my wallet though.

What I really need to do is stock up on ammo and reloading components.  If the ATF ever approves my stamps I'll be firing up the lathe and making a couple of cans.

My wishlist includes:

flintlock long rifle
GEW 88 commission rifle (really should have bought the one Nebraska Gun had a few months back)
Mosin Nagant 28/76
Dutch Beaumont rifle
M1 Garand
1903A3 Springfield
AR10
Trapdoor Springfield
Stevens 44 1/2
Swiss K31
.357 Mag DA revolver of some kind

Glock 23
S&W J Frame and reloading supplies
Possibly a Ruger No. 1 (likely in a caliber bigger than anybody on this continent should ever need)

My "to buy" list seems to vary every day, these are the 3 things that keep popping up repeatedly.

It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

tons of ammo, 3x magnifier, viridian c5l and x5l, surefire mini scouts, stag 3G with offset sights and maybe a vortex 4-12x, another 7.62 saiga to "tac out" and put the ak103 clone back to stock, and to start reloading...

Always on the lookout for ventage Remington Model 8, 81, 14 or 141 in the right price range on the gun auction lists or shows. :D Sights and parts for same as well.
Going to need an MVA period correct scope for my Sharps rifles one day soon so I am trying to save up enough in the "gun fund" stash for this but somehow keep spending the money on items listed above when ever I get ahead a bit.

The $150 22LR revolvers that Cabelas offers from time to time or something have been really tempting.  I too am wanting one of these to train my kidlet with.

7.62x54r reloadable brass...  If I could find any.

You can find it.  But it's labled as 7.62x53.  Cabelas recently had some Norma brass in the bargain cave. Not sure if they still have any.

AIM Surplus sells Prvi Partisan reloadable ammo.  It's good stuff.
