Stayed up too late reloading ammo.  Slept in until 9, would of been cutting it too close.  Next time!

You missed out----47 other people came out to shoot.  :)

The next regular Steel Challenge match is on June 17th (and don't worry, I'll remind everyone before then).  In the meantime, there are always USPSA action pistol matches on the first Sunday of the month, and for the next two months we have Multigun matches on the third Sunday.

(Plus a Pro-Am match in April.  And a Man-vs-Man steel match in May.  All sorts of shooting for everyone!)

More details as we get closer to those matches...

Quick comment in case you didn't have a chance to check the ENPS website---there were some scoring problems that are getting fixed, so the final scores aren't up yet.  (We need to talk to some people about their mathematical addition capabilities---especially since everyone had calculators available!)

When they are up, we'll post a notification here.

D'oh! I don't think I made mistakes on the ones I did, I generally double-checked my math. But mistakes do happen.

BTW, if you need/want any help with checking the math, I'd be happy to help. Although getting me the papers may be more of a pain than actually checking the math. Let me know. :)

And the results are up! Sorry about the wait, but getting them checked, rechecked by someone else, then to the web person to upload (all of whom have actual day jobs :) ) means it takes a little while.

If anyone wants to check out how they did on each stage compared to the rest of the shooters in your division, you can see the results on these Google docs...

Have you ever thought about having a .22 rifle class for Steel Challenge?  I've heard some places do that.  I think a .22 rifle with a red dot would be a lot of fun.

And the answer is:  "Yes, but..."

:)

We have.  Several times.  Plenty of other places do include a .22 Rifle division, both Optics and Irons, and we HAVE thought about it.  (I've got a sweet .22 with a dot I'd love to try, myself.)

Each time, though, we still stick with "well, let's work on getting people used to it a bit more, then we can add it..."

We've had a real jump in numbers in the past two years, and that seems to be continuing this year.  One of the things that happens is that every time a new division is added, it (normally) means that suddenly the other division have less people---and thus, less competition.  For example, once .22 caught on, the centerfire divisions dropped in numbers.  (Ammo prices going up didn't help.)  Once we get some more people shooting, we can possibly add another division.

I'm thinking that it is certainly true that towards the end of this year, the ENPS committee will probably talk about it again for next year---and if the numbers stay up (or increase) like I expect to happen, we'll probably add it.  (That "probably" is based only on my own opinion, so don't read that as gospel.)

Long answer to a simple question, I know.

Short answer:  We have thought about it.  Haven't made the decision yet.

I will also say that if you happen to show up with a .22 rifle and want to shoot it, we'll let you do it.  :)  Rules will be exactly like the .22 handgun divisions.
