open carry in lincoln

Has anyone tried it?  If you did how receptive was the public and the police?

Knowing our Public Safety Director's views on firearms I'm guessing you'll get a lot of unwanted attention.

Personally, I've never understood open carry.  The last thing I want to do is draw attention to myself.

Considering the gunphobic people of Lincoln, I would say be ready to talk to the police and suggest that you practice your calm, soothing voice.  Some time ago a NFOA group organized an open carry lunch at Paul's BBQ.  If you are going to do it, I would make it a group effort.  It seems to me the police would be more likely to give an individual grief as opposed to a group.
