Allow Workers To Have Guns In Vehicles

Randy:
Safe from your employer.
What about theft?

FreedomOne:
Let me throw this out there. What if you don't have a CCW. Then all you have to follow is the Nebraska constitution where it doesn't limit you to where you can carry. If you are defending self, family, or others, it doesn't matter where you do it. The other laws that are out there are in direct confict with the constitution. Just a thought.

Good point.  Other than out of view, there is not a lot I can do to stop a thief... other than park way up on the top floor of the garage.  Maybe a cable lock through the trigger guard?

Randy:
Actually they do make small lockable and cabled car safes.
I Googled car gun safe and found this site I have two one for each vehicle.
Cabela's caries them but not always in stock.
These will stop the smash and grab thefts but a good wire cutter will defeat it.

Three of us at work bought safes from here. You can buy multiple safes that are keyed the same so that you don't have to move the safe from vehicle to vehicle which is nice. Very solid contruction but I would like to see a locking mech. that is a bit better designed. One of my co-workers was making an issue of the cable being cut but I don't think that it is much of an issue. While it is possible that the theif may carry a cutter that is capable of cutting the thick cable, it is more likely that they are just looking for a quick snatch and run and are carrying something to break windows or pry trunks or glove boxs open with.

My two cents.
