I seriously wouldn't have a problem with ya'll doing any of these ideas.

Just an observation:

Open forum....
Times commonly gone from home....
What is in house....
Travel plans and duration...

Sometimes "need to know" is a wise security.

wallace11bravo:
True,

As far as what is in the house: Nothing they didn't already know. Except the safe, which I could not imagine would encourage them. Unfortunately most of the neighbors know about the security system, due to my dumbass setting it off a few times.

Travel Plans/schedule: was purposely being inaccurate, and nothing that they could not observe anyways.

As far as other people, no real location, no relevant or accurate info was given, and there are much easier ways to steal firearms in Nebraska than perusing relatively obscure forums.

I assure you, I do not volunteer any real info to the neighbors. None of them even know my real name.

That being said, you do have a point. Good looking out :)

Besides, the forum really isn't "open" per se.  When I registered it took 6 months to get my account activated lol.

Bought a motorcycle from a guy...who would not return my calls over paperwork.
After I reached the point of resolve, a few minutes of internet search had his parents names, address and phone numbers (father was the actual owner...sold via son), wifes cell phone number, where the guy worked, church...actually quite a bit of life, school and family history in a very short search. Just a simple "google" search, nothing too elaborate. Called the wife, who said "his phone was broken"...guy called me back 5 minutes later on "his broken phone"...realizing that screening calls would not work.

Have used this several other times to get info on someone. It all brings the realization that someone with a bit more experience and resolve could get much more than most people would want them to have. There are so many public records (Property tax) and various registries, that it can be very easy to find identity and trace to other records. It is amazing what web crawlers capture and retain in cache even after the orignial info is removed.

People are clever and find ways around everything.
