On April 28th, Precision Response Training (
http://precisionresponse.4t.com) will be holding two special short courses for shooters interested in USPSA competitions. Each short course is separate, meaning you can take one, the other, or both if you are interested.
The first course (~3.5 hours in the morning) is the
Introduction to USPSA course. For shooters who are interested in starting USPSA action pistol shooting, this course gives you the information and experience to start competitions in a safe and fun fashion.
Curriculum includes information regarding USPSA range rules, range commands, the scoring process, equipment needs, and the classification process, and provides range practice on basic skills needed to safely navigate USPSA courses of fire. Cost is $45. (Includes a short mini-match.)
The second course (~3.5 hours in the afternoon) is the
Classifier Skill Builder course. In May, the Eastern Nebraska Practical Shooters will be holding a USPSA Special Classifier match, which means shooters will have a chance to shoot 6 classifiers all in one match. This will enable new shooters to obtain a classification in just one match, and experienced shooters to make a significant difference to their classification level all at once.
The Classifier Skill Builder course will help you prepare for the Special Classifier.
Just so you know, we will NOT be setting up the classifiers so you can just practice them directly. While that might get you higher scores, it won't actually necessarily teach you the skills you'll need for other USPSA stages.
We WILL, however, be practicing directly the
skills necessary to do well on those classifiers. The difference is that those skills will then be applicable to all stages. Yes, it will also raise your classifier scores---but it'll help you be a better USPSA shooter also. The point of the classification system is to be classified at a level at which you can actually SHOOT on a consistent basis--so we want to make sure you have the skills to do so. Cost: $45
