My New Colt Commander/Family Heirloom
OnTheFly:
My brother-in-law held true to his word. He had his father's Colt Commander (Serial #"70BS2...") which he said he wanted me to have. My father-in-law carried it for several years as an LEO until the police department standardized their firearms. Today my brother-in-law gifted it to me.
From what I can find on the internet, it was manufactured in 1975. Can anyone confirm my research? If I am correct, that makes it around 37 years young.
It is my first 1911 style pistol. I had been hoping to get one some day, but I did not expect one to just drop in my lap like this. I can't wait to shoot it.

I'm sorry, your pictures do not seem to be loading.
J/k man, CC or CCO? Either way, wonderful guns!

Now you just need some custom grips and a nice new holster. Or two..or three.. or.....

I was wanting to post some gun porn of the newest addition to my collection, but the cameras I had available were pretty poor. Hopefully these will display well. And now the test...Can anyone see a problem with my new pistol?

I just called Colt Manufacturing and they said my gun was born in 1970. Even better!
