EXETER – Exeter has a one-of-a-kind business in its downtown.

Exeter Arms is a full-service Class 3 firearms and accessories retailer in downtown Exeter that first opened six years ago in Rob and Hope Androyna’s home.

At the time, Rob was doing subcontracting for utility companies.

“People wanted to be able to have the guns they bought, brought it,” Hope said. “So we took everything we had and sunk it into (Exeter Arms).”

In the beginning, after obtaining a Federal Firearms License, Hope was the middleman between the buyer and the seller of guns.

She helped buyers fill out the right forms for owning the different firearms and helped them register them with the federal government.

“The government likes to know where (the gun) is,” she said.

After Rob started working in the business full time and they moved into their new building on Main Street last October, the Androynas now have two separate licensed facilities.
