.380 Ammo Question?
« on: October 06, 2012, 01:14:40 PM »
I have a Taurus PT 738, >380 ACP and have shot over 700 rounds thru this gun with no problems, until yesterday.  I purchased some Remington Golden Saber 102 Grain JHP to try. I shot 3 clips of these, no problem except for the last bullet would no feed into the chamber, I ran some other ammo and no feed problems with all bullets. I like to shoot the heaviest bullets I can whenever possible. Hornady Critical Defense 90 grain FTX, Winchester (white box) 95 grain FMJ no problems with, and shot some of these after the hang ups. Suggestions? Thank you, Karl

IIRC Golden Saber rounds have a large hollowpoint. It's probably the reason for the hang up. The last round probably angles up slightly differently from the others. If you want to carry those rounds for self defense, load a different brand that feeds reliably as the first one in the magazine.

Of course, if you're firing to slide lock in a defensive situation, you've probably got bigger problems  ;D
