Media fails to get it right, again. in Omaha
« on: November 28, 2012, 03:34:22 PM »
http://kickoffkid.omaha.com/article/20121128/NEWS/121129578/1690#police-make-weapons-related-arrests

I know it will never change, I have even called different media outlets on their writing skewing the truth and public's view on the subjects. Of course I do not excuse OPD in this either, as we all know how they like to skew the public's view on firearms to push further their own agendas.
But as far as I am concerned, these should be considered DRUG related arrests where Firearms were found. NOT solely Weapons related arrests. The firearms were Illegally gotten, illegally possessed, and illegally transported, BUT lo and behold, the GUNS did not do it by themselves, These gangbangers did!
Sorry, I had to vent. Thanx.

It's a lost cause.  What kind of feed back did you get from your contact?

Only got half way through it before giving up on the article myself.

Propaganda joy :(

Also, gotta love how omaha.com doesn't allow comments on their stories hehehehe.

none on previous attempts. I haven't tried with this one yet.

I've noticed a ton more cops out & about lately.  Looks like they are trolling for holiday money :)

The media is ridiculous, especially when they are attempting to report anything gun-related.  How many times do we read "automatic assault weapon" or some such nonsense?  I'm pretty sure if a reporter who knew anything about firearms tried to write a factual story for the OWH, they would be fired.

Omaha got one of those "Traffic Enforcement Grants" from somewhere to cover additional overtime for their officers.

Any more finding drugs is boring but finding a weapon makes people hop for joy and sells advertising.

So the vehicle hauling 1200lbs of meth is nothing with out the fully automatic high capacity magazine fed silenced assault revolver.

Yes I made that gun up but you know somewhere some idiot thinks it is real.

They violated the ordinances alright.  Don't click on the youtube link if you cant stand foul language.  But thats the way these Omaha gang bangers talk and what they believe.  Notice in the 2nd clip, at 2 minutes and 38 seconds, the gang banger says his gun is registered and his banger friend says there's nothing the police can do.  Apparently, these bangers think that registering your gun makes you a concealed handgun permit holder.
