My truck was vandalized...well sort of.
« on: December 19, 2012, 10:39:37 PM »
I just spoke with my wife and while she was at the grocery store, someone pealed off my NRA sticker and part of the NFOA sticker.  Emotions are running high on this topic, and I'm glad my wife did not have to be confronted by the emotional, irrational person who did this.  She is not the confrontational type, and she is kind of worried that someone might take it a step further than this passive aggressive behavior.

Uhmmmmmmmmmmm.....

That's a new low.

I'm glad your wife is safe.

If someone's willing to go as far as to peel off bumper stickers, who knows how messed up in the head they are.

Were the stickers anywhere around the truck?  You never know maybe someone liked them so much they just had to have them.  But seriously that is messed up.  Just down right disrespectful.  And it's the scumbags like this that can't even respect other people's property that want to see our rights degraded.  Says a lot doesn't it.  Glad your wife did not have to see this person and is safe.

Did you look around for the tiny hybrid electric car with a coexist bumper sticker and the little yellow equals sign?

I'd say a good thing....i.e. fly under the radar and give no one suspicion you are a gun owner, nor carry....my two cents....

^^^No. In my opinion, anyone I catch peeling anything off of my truck is going to be met with 4 things.

They're called knuckles.

I have as much right to display my preferences as that idiot with the coexist sticker and all the other crap.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

I like the message behind the coexist stickers. I just think the X should be a couple of crossed rifles.

Wow! With this precedence set, does that mean I am now free to act upon my impulses to rip every frickin Obama/ Biden bumper sticker from every vehicle I encounter?  Ya know how many times I have wished for my old beater beast of a Ford truck back, so that I could forcibly remove said stickers while motorvating down the interstate?
That being said, and the fact that I am a peace loving individual, I have never acted upon any thought of messing with someone's property!  I just bought a new to me car, nicest one I have owned in a while, and I was just thinking the other day that I may wait a while before applying any support decals.  Now I am sure of it.

Ditto about your wife being safe, because there are a bunch of loony tunes out there. Also hope she carries or knows martial arts to defend herself and kids.  My wife wouldn't get military license plates (if this great state of NE had some) for the exact same reason.

Sorry to hear that.  Glad everyone's okay.

My extremely boring fuel efficient economy car with NRA and Army stickers was egged and stickers peeled off last year on UNL campus without any sort of media events going on nationally.

I was a bit mad at the time was a bit mad because the Army one particularly classy looking and a gift.

I thought about not replacing them just to avoid hassle but felt that somehow was letting the assholes win.  Might think twice if my wife ever drove my car though.

Anyone got an extra NRA sticker that they could pass to OnTheFly.  This story made me go out and stick mine up in the rear window.  I figure the more they see, the more angry they'll get.  :D

You've got to be kidding me.  Being a gun owner does NOT make us some kind of criminal like some media would like to spin it as.  The only way we're ever going to get past this is to show ignorant Americans just how many of us there actually are, and that we're NOT scary, we're NORMAL PEOPLE, and we're NOT going to simply lay down because of some unfounded fear induced reactions based on misinformation and just plain bad reporting from politically aligned media companies.

Glad your wife is ok.  It's a shame no one respects private property anymore.

I found that online too.  I thought it was funny and showed it to my wife.  She didn't see the humor in it.

Vandals and thieves, I have zero tolerance for either. Such cowardly acts.

I'm glad your wife was not harmed and that there wasn't more damage done to your truck. However, recently, I voiced this type of concern to my wife. I too have an NRA sticker on my truck.....yea, it's still there. Although, I may swap it out with my Life of Duty NRA sticker.

Last year I had a "Support Our Troops" magnet on my vehicle... came out from HyVee and the magnet was gone along with my rear windshield wiper (ripped right off). Wow!! I had the manager look at the video feed backup; he could see my vehicle pull in, but where I parked was "out far enough that nothing could be seen for sure since the cameras are mainly for the front part of the store's parking lot"
