Actually I know I would love the heck out of IDPA or USPSA matches and I want to get involved over at Bigshots since its less than a mile from me.  Just need to give myself a kick in the pants to make it happen.

Get on over to BigShots and DO IT!  There are many of us that are willing to help any new shooters.  All you have to do is take it slow at first and be safe.  No shame in learning the game and increasing your speed as you get experience.

My goal for 2013 is to shoot a qualifying score in the Swiss rifle matches. I came close last year, but not close enough.

Those are some good ones, good luck and report back.

Cheers.

1. Earn a B classification in Limited.
2. Break 25.00 seconds total on Outer Limits.
3. Spend a full, focused minute on mental preparation before every stage.
4. Finish a match without a single Grade A, bonehead, "Oh F--- me!" moment.
5. Bring at least three new people to their first organized pistol shoot.

Those are some good ones, good luck and report back.

Cheers.

Since it's the end of 2013, I thought I'd resurrect this 2013 Goals thread.

I achieved all of my goals stated above.  It was one heck of a growth year, and I'm putting together some aggressive goals for 2014.

Detailed recap:
1. Made B in limited back in March.  (since then I've switched to Production)
2. Made it into the 23s range.
3. Improved mental preparation definitely helped me avoid some bonehead moves.
4. Finished a few matches without total Fails mixed in.  This required both equipment and mental improvements.
5. I brought about half a dozen first time shooters to at least one match.

I'm glad you brought this one back up, great way to reflect.
I certainly didn't make B or even sniff C.  All classifier match killed me on 2 stages with bad reloads :(
I will keep plugging along though, with practice and dryfire and maybe some luck.  Something has to click soon.

Great trap season, didn't bust 100 straight but had at least 5 perfect 25's.

Kept the family involved in shooting trap, Ruger Rimfire Challenge, Rock Your Glock, etc.

looking forward to 2014.

Have to amend post.  Shot Sectionals, Area 3 (got a DQ with only two stages left and IT WAS GOING TO BE A CLEAN MATCH!).  I only had 9 D's no Mikes, no no-shoots, etc.  I felt it was a breakout match.  Went to Nationals, didn't DQ but it was probably the worst match I ever shot.  Nonetheless it was a great time.
