New IDPA Matches starting near Omaha!
« on: November 09, 2021, 04:35:48 PM »
The Marksman Indoor Range in Waterloo, NE (near Omaha) is now an official IDPA club, and will be holding monthly 3-stage matches (and occasionally 4-stage matches) beginning in November.  So in addition to the IDPA matches at Thunder Alley in Lincoln and Inner 10 in Omaha, you can now shoot IDPA even more!

November match:
Sunday, November 21st, 6:30pm.
3 stages, $15.
Registration on Practiscore:
https://practiscore.com/clubs/idpa_at_marksman_indoor_range
Rules per current IDPA rulebook.  PCC and CO divisions allowed, of course.
(Registration for the November and December matches are already available.)

If you aren't an IDPA member, come give it a try---the shooting sports are a blast.  And if you ARE an IDPA member, come and shoot more!

After the November match, the IDPA matches will normally occur the second Sunday of each month.  Hope to see you there!

Sorry, just saw this!  (Haven't logged in here in awhile.)

Sean McSheehy is the MD for the Marksman IDPA matches.

(Sean's been an IDPA member since 2002, so he's seen a lot of IDPA over the years.)

The Marksman has now held six matches, and a number of folks have joined IDPA.  The next match there is scheduled for April 3rd, and registration is available on Practiscore:

If you are interested in trying some of the shooting sports, but aren't sure about the rules and such, take a look here:
https://precisionresponsetraining.com/2021/11/11/introduction-to-idpa-competition/

That article was written for folks interested in getting started in IDPA matches, including a discussion about equipment and gear, rules and procedures, and so on---basically a primer on what you need to know to shoot an IDPA match.

A later followup post came about when people were asking how to get better at shooting IDPA stages:

Come try it out!
