Not important: Boss's tire replacement
« on: January 18, 2013, 06:56:26 PM »
My boss bought a Mercedes earlier in the year.

For whatever reason, it was back in the dealership (edit: Firestone, Bellevue, Fort Crook & Childs) today to get a tire replaced.

It was taking a long time... unreasonably long.

Turns out, the dealer (edit: mechanic) had called the police because there was a firearm in the trunk.  This firearm ? A 40 year old air rifle that didn't even work.  It wasn't in a case or anything, just laying in the trunk.

There's possibly some understanding about company policy with all of that (even if it's silly).

But... the really amusing part is they refused to put the spare tire into the trunk, and left it in his back seat because of the 'firearm'.

*sigh*

(Note, I don't think my boss actually owns any firearms, but is a 2A supporter / proponent ... he *might* have some stuff given to him from his WWII 101st Airborne Dad, dunno).

Well that sucks. I was going to buy a new Mercedes tomorrow, but not now!

Which dealership was this?

Mercedes was the choice of Nazis....

OOhhhhh, I would have had a few words with the owner or General Manager! Completely unnecessary behavior on their part. Plus, leaving the tire in the back seat? Unbelievable.

On the lighter side... sadly, my first thought was that they kept the car a lot longer than necessary to address the electrical/tranny issues they have been plagued with recently. ;D

One wonders if they had an employee who is a convicted felon.  This happened to my dad about 20 years ago.  One of the mechanics at the shop where he had his vehicles serviced was a convicted felon.  My dad had just come from the range and wanted them to look into a noise he heard while driving.  When the mechanic noted the gun rug in the front seat he ran into the owner's office and stated he wasn't going near my dad's truck until my dad removed the gun and kept it on his person.  Gotta admire the guy for being on the level.....

Got to stay away from those Evil Black Assult Mercedes's

Wonder what they would have done if they'd have found the Donut's
in the Glove box next to the dead body.

But seriously Wouldn't the police have needed a Warrent to even check it out as
the Owner never gave permission to search it?

Got a response from the Boss.

Wasn't a Mercedes dealership.

Firestone, the one in Bellevue near Fort Crook Rd and Childs Rd.

My bad for the misinformation.  Editing original post.
