So I am told I won a shotgun in a raffle.....
« on: January 25, 2013, 01:12:52 PM »
I apparently won a shotgun in a raffle.  At least that what the guy who I bought the ticket from tells me.  However, I cannot seem to get anyone to confirm it or tell me where to get the gun.  I do not doubt my friend who told me this, but I am anxious to get the gun. He has called the guy who was supposed to contact me, but has only been able to leave a voice mail.  I know Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are reputable organizations, as is Midway USA so I do not doubt the legitimacy of the raffle, either.  How long should I expect for it to take to collect the prize, though?

Am I in the wrong for being anxious about it?  I am grateful for the prize, but I think I would feel better if I could just talk to the guy who apparently will tell me how to collect.  I have searched their websites and there is no mention of the raffle.  It is kind of curious.  Anyone know anything about this?

Well, telling us what raffle it was, and what organization held it, would probably help.  :)

Pheasants forever, Quail forever, is all I know. It is also being sponsored by Midway USA somehow.  I just bought the ticket for my buddy. It has something to do with his son's skeet club.  He went out of town (my buddy) so I will bug him again on Monday.  I guess, I am just impatient

gigabelly,

Just PM me for my address and then send me your raffle ticket stub, and any information you might have provided while registering.  I will get to the bottom of this for you.   ;D

In my experience, if it is a local chapter they usually have an FFL that holds all the guns for them. You need to find out who that is and call the FFL. Hopefully they have informed the FFL so you can work with them to do paperwork, ship if necessary, etc.

Congrats!

Yes. And my hand got tired filling out the rest. I should not have volunteered to do that for you...
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

Thanks.
