Ruger Revolver
« on: February 09, 2013, 09:20:47 PM »
A good friend got in touch the other day to see if would be interested in an older Ruger .357 he was looking to sell. I took a chance and picked it up. Its a Police Service Six. Four inch barrel, fixed service sights box stock six shot DA. Got a chance to shoot it today and was really impressed with what a great revolver it turned out to be. Handy size and very easy to hit with. I was able to keep it in the scoring rings at 25 yards with a dead on hold shooting single action off hand. This ones a keeper for sure.

Looks good! I thought about bringing my 66 out today, but I was focused on load development for the 308.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

Nice score.  You have way too many nice guns.  It's only fair we redistribute the wealth and make you share with the rest of us (meaning me).

That grouping is pretty cruddy. If I were you I would simply cut your losses  and sell that ugly gun to me. I will dispose of it properly ;) (as into my pistol safe).

Nice find!
I have owned a 6"security six for the last 20 years and I love it.
They are very strong well built guns. It is the handgun I am most accurate with, and being big and heavy the recoil is managable.
I have been watching prices and these have been going up lately, doubling what I paid for it.
Mine came with Pachmyr grips, and recently I found some close out oversized wood grips on the Ruger website for $10. here is a pic.
