==The NFOA Needs You== (Omaha Area)

The NFOA is currently planning a two day event at Cabela's in La Vista, NE.

March 9th and  10th
Saturday- 8:00am-9:00pm
Sunday- 10:00am-6:00pm


We want to have continuous events for both days, including:
  • A new member and organization information table
  • A dryfire training system
  • Firearms safety training and general coaching using the above mentioned system

There will also be a number of special seminars and classes provided by local instructors who are donating their time to support the NFOA and general public education. These classes will be 1-3 hours long and free of charge to all students. Details on this are still being finalized, and I will release and post a flyer with all the details when they are available.

==The NFOA Needs You==

I am currently seeking volunteers for the following duties:
  • Someone to put on a "Safe Storage/Eddie Eagle" seminar(Either Toby Asplin or DCS/SCS)
  • Someone to manage the main table, ensuring it is supplied, equipped, and manned(J Cady[NE Bull])
  • Multiple people to man the main table (even if you can only spare a couple hours)
  • If you feel you have something else to contribute to this event, please let me know

Please include dates and times you would be able to work the front table, or otherwise contribute.

I can probably help man a table at some point. I usually work weekends at Cabela's but after/before a shift I will help out.

Double checked my schedule, and it looks like I am free. I could get the booth together for ya, but will need help manning it.
I would be willing to help with a Gun Safe seminar, but not ready to go solo, yet.

I will take a shift working the table either Sat. or Sun. Put me in a slot as needed.
I wouldn't feel comfortable trying any demonstration, but I will bring a cheerful friendly attitude.

Looks like we are working a different angle on the eddie eagle/safe storage thing, and that is more or less covered at this point.

NeBull, are you willing to be the manager for the front table? It looks like you have Bradkroll and greg willing to fill some time slots. Let me know what you need for materials.

I will be there all weekend running the dryfire system, providing the ongoing safety and marksmanship coaching, and coordinating the special seminars, which will all be in the same general area. I am still working out where exactly the front table will be, but I am trying to see if they will put us at the front of the store.

Last we were there, along side the NRA, we were stationed front and center, directly behind the greeters/ Card pushers.

It sounded like we would be able to do that again. Cabela's has an interim events manager right now, so getting solid answers is a little difficult ATM. I will be pestering her more tomorrow.

The use of the classrooms and area for LASR is locked in, but the exact details of the front table are still being worked out. The seminars are more or less locked in, but we are trying to get a commitment from Douglas or Sarpy Sheriffs to help out with an Eddie Eagle thing.

Right now, the schedule includes:
-Eddie Eagle and Safe Storage, still being solidified
-Intro to Reloading, SemperFiGuy
-Appleseed- Marksmanship meets History, Wesley
-A legislative briefing, Andy
-Concealed Carry Lifestyle, jthhapkido
-Legal Aspects of Lethal Force, ChrisZ

And of course:

We still need more volunteers to man the front tables!

Once everything is solidified, I can put the final polish on the flyer and start getting it distributed.

To whomever is heading this thing up.  Any ideas on the final itenerary?  I've got folks lining up to help, but need to know some solid plans. I've heard rumblings through the grapevines.  Are we still a go?

The venue fell through, so this idea is more or less dead for now.

I am getting ready to be out of state for a month and a half, so I am not going to be able to get the ball rolling on this anytime soon.
