Okay, so I lied... Apparently that one is much "larger" than the first one I looked at. Apparently I'm district #6.

Well, poop on Omaha then, I won't be selling any guns there thank you very much. Cabelas, Bullet Hole in Sarpy County will do. As well as Bud's Pawn Shop & Fontenelle Gun Shop in Bellevue.
Hate to tell you Fontenell Gun Shop is long gone and all items have been auctioned off.

I agree with Jay. Totally ineffective.  I wish there was some system in place where a traded in gun could be checked if it was stolen or not, but without running every gun through the police, there is no system for FFLs or individuals to do this.

Subject: Possible Spam: RE: Omaha Mayor's Office: Fingerprinting For
Firearms Sales Ordinance

Dear Don,

Thank you for your recent e-mail regarding the City Council ordinance
regarding gun sales in secondhand shops.

Mayor Suttle supports the ordinance that requires secondhand gun dealers
to fingerprint people who want to sell guns, a practice that is already
required in pawn shops.   This ordinance is another tool to protect the
rights of law abiding gun owners and prevent illegal guns from falling
into the hands of criminals.   In addition, this ordinance will help in
the prosecution of criminals who will attempt to sell an unlicensed gun.
Because the ordinance helps protect the safety of our community and the
2nd amendment rights of gun owners, Mayor Suttle believes the ordinance
will have a positive impact for the citizens of Omaha and signed the
ordinance into law.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on this
subject.  Please don't hesitate to contact the mayor's office in the
future.

Thank you,

T.J. Smith

As far as casings being linked to a firearm and left at the scene, every firearm owner should carry a bag of range brass of multiple calibers from many guns to sprinkle as needed.

That's true. Or just simply pick up their spent cases before leaving the scene. :P
