Buying guns from old people reduces crime?

The premise is that the purchase prevents a "future" crime.

In these economically challenging times I'd like it known that I would be willing to accept any FN FAL's that I cannot afford to buy...(and any compatible mags...or ammo...bayonet would be nice too) so that I can better protect myself. ;D  Remember "Pop Tarts won't protect you!"
