Firearm Shipping Repair Work Shipping?

As I understand it is legal to ship a firearm to manufacturer for repairs or warranty work and the manufacturer can ship the firearm back directly to your address.

Yet a FFL Dealer cannot ship a firearm to ones address.

Due I have this correct? If so I do not understand.

Correct.  The law allows a manufacturer (not an FFL) to ship directly to you, if you are the owner.

I guess I don't undertand the intent of the question.

My Ruger LCP (misfed) (officially purchased NIB from a FFL) (a month later) was shipped to AZ via UPS store and returned to my doorstep from Ruger via UPS truck. Lawful owner back to lawful owner.
"Yet a FFL Dealer cannot ship a firearm to ones address"  Had I purchased the LCP from a non FFL and been the owner prior to shipping to Ruger would of been no difference. Lawful owner back to lawful owner.  Do we want this to be mandated to go through an FFL?  Not me.  Can this be exploited?  Potentially, but it sounds like a "gun show" loophole.

I think that there should be no difference in shipping but unfortunately there is.

Loophole maybe but I would not want to go backwards with any new restrictions to shipping or other new firearm law.
