My favorite:

"Bring in recognized gang members under probation or parole authority to hear from
concerned members of their own community about the need for the violence to stop"

Would you pretty please tell your meany friends to play nice...... Maybe they can take off their shirts and hug, too.  What world do these people come from????

After hearing Nabity's "solutions" the other day (similar bilge and very disappointing), Stothert maybe their only hope from the GOP.  Alas, all hot air as the Unions will decide once again.  Praise the Lord I don't live in Omaha.....

There is only one answer: ASHFORD FOR MAYOR!
“It is not an issue of being afraid, It's an issue of not being afraid to protect myself.”

Politicians are generally elitist. It doesn't matter which party they are from. Reagan was in favor or an AWB. GHW Bush signed the orders restricting imports. GW Bush said he'd sign an AWB renewal if it landed on his desk.

Now, GOP members of congress are wiling to bend on a variety of gun issues for political expedience. Forgive my cynicism, I just am not buying what any of them are selling anymore.

They won't support us because we are right. They will only support us if they fear losing the next time around.

He lost me with his City/County merger plans. Does anyone belive that a merger would lower everyones taxes?
I think it would simply raise the taxes of everyone outside of Omaha.
I have too many units around that would be subject to wheel tax.
I don't want to register my handguns with Omaha. There is a reason I moved out of Omaha 28 years ago and became a country boy.
State statute says that County residents outside of Omaha have to vote to agree to a merger, and every year I hear of some Omaha State Senator wanting to remove that right from us.

I don't have a link or anything, but I am now hearing rumblings that Nabity is keen to the idea of Gun Amnesty events as well.

Looks like Stothert is the only one that is blaming crime on the criminals instead of the guns.

As far as I'm concerned Jean Stothert is the only option for Mayor and I am fully supporting her for Mayor of Omaha. Jean is smart, knows how to handle our tax dollars, and uses common sense when it comes to 2nd amendment rights. Out of all the Omaha Mayoral candidates Jean Stothert is the BEST candidate.

Yes bullit, I jest. Although I do not live in Omaha, My children live there with their mother, so I do have a stake in how Omaha is ran. And at this time, I, too, am backing Jean Stothert.  She caught my eye during a city council meeting debating the Omaha registration. She stopped the Attorney gal and the OPD lady and just said, and I paraphrase-  "Hey. What do we have to do to make this fall in line with state and local laws?  Either fix it, or get rid of it" -

Is Welch a Republican? Guess it doesn't matter either way. If i lived in Omaha I'd vote for Jean Stothert. What a shame to hear that Nabity would support "gun amnesty". Thought he was a true conservative. He would do us all a favor if he leaves the race instead of syphoning votes away from Stothert.
