Ammo for M1 Garand
« on: May 23, 2009, 11:25:32 PM »
I need some help?  I have a H&R M1 Garand and I am having ammo problem.  As you all know 30-06 is very costly so I reload my own.  The problem that I am having is with commercial cases (Win. RP).  The taper at the neck is not the right angle or is some what rounded.  It keeps the bolt from closing all the way.  I can shoot all the Greek surplus that I want threw it and it works fine.  Is there any die or trick to reshape that angle? Or is the rifle the problem?

Problem Fixed.  Purchased Wilson Cartridge headspace gage from Midway for $25 to check ammo.  Need to set die deeper when using full length sizer for M1 Garand.

Those cartridge gauges are a must have tool.

Thanks for passing on your solution.
