I can't believe the Commie/Socialist candidate got more votes than Mort Sullivan...
Now if you add up Stothert + Nabity + Welch = 61.69%
Even if you give all of Ashfords votes to Suttle, things don't look good for Bloomberg's boy!!

I'll admit, in the decade I've been in Nebraska, I haven't ever felt compelled to vote in a mayoral primary/election yet...until this year. Obviously my one vote didn't make a difference, but so far, it does seem that others also didn't care for Mr. Suttle's recent "coming out" with his position on gun control.

It does look like I will have to vote again soon...just to be sure :)

I THINK finally Omahans get it....that being said, recall Hal Daub ran off with the primary against Suttle et al. and lost in big fashion.  Wonder if the Unions will come out in force.  Hoping for the best over there.....

Suttle's campaign paid homeless people to vote for him in the recall election, so I'm sure he'll be up to his usual dirty tricks in the general election.

Bullit, I think your right in that if there could be a downfall for Jean, it would be the unions. She kinda stuck it to them in favor of the taxpayers.  I believe both sides came out OK, but the bottom line is the Unions didn't get everything they wanted, like usual, so they can be sure to be pouting.
But having met her face to face a few times, talking with her on FB, and watching her at Council Meetings, I can say she is interested in getting everyone together and working thru things. (not the 'it's my way or no way' that Suttle and some of the other candidates ( I won't mention names, but one might rhyme with ashford) tend to do.
I obviously don't live in Omaha, but my kids do a majority of the time, so I feel I have a stake in how the city is ran. And having read through Miss Stothert's Plan for the city, we see eye to eye on alot of things, especially her thoughts on police vs crime.
