New York (as do pretty much all states) has a "prescription monitoring program". Most people are unaware that ALL pharmacies that fill prescriptions are required to report all narcotics fills to the state. Most RX computer systems send the records electronically. The record contains all information concerning the fill including patient information, prescriber information, drug information and pharmacy information. Failure to report results in loss of the pharmacy's license.
I was wondering how long before this information was used for confiscation.
